Take the poem that you are working on for your poetry explication and follow steps 5-8 on pp. 471-474 of the Norton Anthology. This will be an important first step in the creation of your poetry explication.

Reflect on your answers to these steps in two to four paragraphs. You may use “I” in reflective writing, since it’s based on personal experience. “You” should never be used in academic writing.
